Zeta-Jones Gifted Douglas a Penthouse in Rome: 25 Years of Marriage and a Collection From New York to Majorca

When Catherine Zeta-Jones wants to give her husband a gift, she doesn't go for a tie or a new watch. She buys him a penthouse in Rome, in a historic palazzo close to Piazza Navona, with a view of the dome of St Peter's. One Italian shoot summer simply cannot pass without its own address.

The property had been bought back in November, and over the past months the actress had been quietly decorating it, with artworks from her own collection. Michael Douglas, currently filming a movie in Rome, saw the space for the first time last week. The couple was photographed in caps and sunglasses walking towards the building, and then later at lunch with Italian pasta in a nearby restaurant. No announcement. No staged press event.

The Zeta-Jones/Douglas family doesn't skimp on real estate. The main address is a 12,000-square-foot property in New York, with eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms, bought in 2019 for 4.5 million dollars, and now listed on the market for 9.75 million. They also have a house in Majorca, on the Tramontana hills between Valldemossa and Deià - an address bought back in 1990, when Spain was a different country.

The couple has been married for over 25 years and has two children - Dylan (25) and Carys (23). By Hollywood standards, that's pretty unusual: a whole couple that hasn't gone through a single „marriage-divorce" cycle. Maybe that's why they can afford a gift from Rome without putting the marital plane on standby.
