Ana de Armas's Breakfast Isn't a Disaster: What a Nutritionist Says About Sweet Coffee, Avocado and Egg

Ana de Armas in an interview with the Wall Street Journal admitted something Hollywood rarely does: she drinks coffee with sugar, even though she knows it's not ideal. Together with tomato on toast and poached eggs, that's her standard morning meal. Not „a spinach smoothie," not „gluten-free grain" - just normal coffee with something sweet and avocado butter on toast.

The nutritionist Raquel Monedero analysed the combination and did something useful: she neither dismisses nor celebrates it - she explains. Coffee with sugar can indeed cause a spike in blood sugar and cortisol, especially in the morning on an empty stomach. That's where nutritionists agree. But at the same time - avocado and egg bring balance: healthy fats, quality protein, complex carbohydrates. It's not a catastrophe, contrary to what the eternal „clean eating" gurus will tell you.

„The ideal breakfast has to adapt to individual needs," Monedero says. Translation: there is no one breakfast for everyone. If you have an intense day, add fruit for antioxidants and more protein. If you mostly sit, fewer calories. Advice for those with coffee with sugar: drink it after something, not on an empty stomach, and keep it to one or two cups.

From the list of alternatives the nutritionist recommends - a bowl of yogurt with fruit and nuts, oatmeal with cinnamon, toast with hummus and salmon, or eggs with greens and sweet potato - all are compatible with Balkan cooking. None requires a special supplement bought online.

The question isn't whether Ana de Armas eats „ideally." The question is why everyone was shocked when an actress admitted she drinks coffee with sugar. Maybe because the wellness industry lives off that isolation - telling you that tiny rituals are ruining your day. And the truth is simple: what's on your plate overall matters more than one cup of coffee. And that's the specialist telling you, not the blogger.
