ALTA BANKA: A VICTIM OR A REASONABLE DECISION
Chronology

On October 29 the president of Serbia's Democratic Party, Srđan Milivojević, filed a criminal complaint against Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković over suspicions linked to the conversion and transfer of funds abroad.

On October 30 the National Bank of Serbia introduced a temporary measure blocking Alta Banka's payment operations.

On Saturday, October 31, 2026, the National Bank of Serbia announced that a decision to revoke Alta Banka's operating license had been made at a session of the Executive Board.

The information was published on the social network X between two and three in the morning, according to Forbes Srbija. There are grounds to ask whether Jorgovanka Tabaković, the governor of the National Bank of Serbia, is trying to shield her own responsibility by revoking Alta Banka's license. Tabaković has headed the National Bank of Serbia continuously since August 2012, more than 14 years, and her entire career has been built on politics. Did Tabaković approve the conversion of 50 million euros on October 27 for a bank the National Bank already knew had serious liquidity problems?

A MANAGER'S INTEGRITY IS MEASURED BY THE CONSISTENCY OF THEIR DECISIONS!

A true manager is recognized by the integrity, principle and consistency of their decisions, not by sudden changes of position under public pressure or the threat of criminal liability. The Alta Banka case raises serious questions about the work of the National Bank of Serbia and its governor, Jorgovanka Tabaković. How is it possible that a financial institution, which until recently was also positioning itself strongly on the Macedonian market, is left without a license practically overnight? If the problems existed for a long time, why was there no earlier reaction? If they appeared suddenly, what exactly happened? State institutions must not operate according to political circumstances, but according to laws and principles. Closing a bank is not an ordinary administrative decision. It is a serious blow to trust in the financial system. Integrity is not proven by closing institutions, but by timely, consistent and responsible action. Who decided:
Name Position
Jorgovanka Tabaković Governor and Chair of the Executive Board
Željko Jović Vice Governor
Ana Ivković Vice Governor
Dragana Stanić Vice Governor
Nikola Dragašević Vice Governor
The four vice governors today, October 31, asked the prosecution to examine the possible criminal liability of the responsible persons at the National Bank of Serbia!
