Hilda Kazasyan and the Pleven Philharmonic arrive at the Mara Belcheva Culture House in Sevlievo on October 21 at 19:00 with the concert "S obich za Vili Kazasyan". It is an evening dedicated to Vili Kazasyan, the man who led the Bulgarian National Radio Big Band for more than thirty years - and the father of the singer who will perform his music.

Vili Kazasyan (1934-2008) was a Sofia pianist, composer and conductor of Armenian descent. Under his baton the radio big band became a school for a whole generation of Bulgarian jazz musicians. His daughter Hilda, born in 1970, started piano at five, graduated in percussion from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music, and today has seven albums, among them "Cover Girl" and "Homage to Ella Fitzgerald".

This isn't their first tour together. The singer and the Pleven orchestra have already made the rounds of Bulgarian halls with "To Love Gershwin", and before that with a programme of film music. This time the material is family, and the organiser is keeping the exact setlist to itself for now. If anyone can sing Vili Kazasyan's music from the inside, it's the person who grew up with it.

Tickets on eventim.bg cost 13 to 15 euros, or about 800 to 925 denars. Sevlievo is in central Bulgaria, in Gabrovo province, and a week earlier, on October 14, the same concert plays Targovishte.
