Aries

Aries will lose a game of backgammon today to a pensioner in the park who throws the dice without even looking at them. Twice. They'll ask for a rematch, lose that too, and stay another hour just to watch the old man count his moves ahead. On Monday they'll be back - with coffee for two.

Taurus

Taurus should get up from the chair at least once an hour today - to the window, to the water tap, the stairs instead of the lift. Not one of those five minutes will hurt their work. In the evening their back will thank them in the only way it knows: by keeping quiet.

Gemini

Gemini will finish the last forty pages of the book they started back in July today, in one go, on a Friday evening. They won't pick up a new one straight away. They'll stay sitting with the closed book in their lap, as if after a long conversation that ended exactly when it should have.

Cancer

Cancer will buy paint today for the wall they've been looking at as "temporary" for three years. They won't ask for opinions in the group chat and won't bring samples home. By evening one wall will be repainted, in a shade slightly different from the one they imagined - and that's exactly the one they'll like best.

Leo

At dinner with friends today, Leo won't say "leave it, I'll pay". The bill will be split six ways, down to the last denar, and they'll pay their share and not a cent more. Nobody will be offended. On the contrary - someone will ask if they're all right.

Virgo

Virgo will get a message today saying "can I ask you something?", and then nothing will arrive for two hours. In that time they'll prepare a defence in their head for every mistake they've made in the last five years. In the end, the question will be where they bought their blanket.

Libra

At the bus stop today Libra will run into a friend from primary school they haven't seen in fifteen years. They'll have four minutes until the bus and will spend them on "you haven't changed a bit". Will they swap numbers, or will it all stay at "we must meet up"?

Scorpio

Scorpio will finally return the drill they borrowed from the neighbour last autumn. The neighbour will pretend they never even asked for it.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius should promise nothing after six in the evening today. Not "I'll come", not "I'll finish it by Monday", not "this winter I'm definitely going skiing". Friday night is the worst time for promises, and they hand them out like sweets at a wedding.

Capricorn

Capricorn will browse flat listings in another city today - not because they're moving, but "just to see". They'll open twenty-odd ads and work out the rent, the bills and how many hours it is from home. They'll close them all. One link, though, they'll send to themselves.

Aquarius

Aquarius will cook tavče gravče - Macedonia's baked beans - today in the biggest pot in the house, far more than they can eat. Half will go into jars - for their mother, for the neighbour, for the colleague who lives alone. They'll come home empty-handed, with a phone full of messages saying "this tastes like grandma's".

Pisces

Pisces will travel longer than usual today - by bus, by train or just through city traffic - and won't put their headphones in. They'll look out of the window with no purpose at all. They won't write down a single thought, and one of them will come back to them on Sunday, when they least expect it.
