Portuguese gothic metal band Moonspell play the Dancing Hall of MKC (Youth Cultural Centre) in Skopje on April 1, 2027, as part of the "God Is a Vampire" tour. It is their biggest headline tour yet: 40 shows in 19 countries between March 4 and April 18, celebrating 35 years of the band.

Fronted by vocalist Fernando Ribeiro, the band grew out of the Lisbon metal scene, and with "Wolfheart" (1995) and "Irreligious" (1996) became the best-known Portuguese metal band in the world. The new album "Far From God" came out on July 3, 2026 on Napalm Records, produced by Jaime Gómez Arellano, who has worked with Paradise Lost and Ghost. The band itself describes it as a rebirth and a return to the raw core of gothic metal - something like an "Irreligious" for the 21st century.

Moonspell reach Skopje between Athens (March 31) and Belgrade (April 2), with a new stage set, lights and video production. The line-up is Ribeiro, Ricardo Amorim on guitar, Pedro Paixão on keys, Aires Pereira on bass and Hugo Ribeiro on drums. Support comes from Jotun, progressive metal from Denmark and the Faroe Islands, and Spain's Todomal, an atmospheric doom metal band. Ribeiro's message for the tour is short: "Far from God, but close to you".

The first 100 tickets go at a promo price of 1,500 denars on karti.com.mk and mktickets.mk. Sofia and Thessaloniki are on the same route a few days earlier, but this time Macedonian gothic metal fans don't have to travel - the road ends at MKC.
