Sixty-two-year-old S.J. was found dead in his home in the Hrom neighbourhood of Skopje's Gjorče Petrov municipality. The case was reported to the Skopje Interior Affairs Sector on October 22 at 6:40 pm, after a call from a member of the public.
An emergency medical services doctor pronounced him dead, and signs of violence were noted on the body. Police teams carried out an on-site investigation, and on the orders of a public prosecutor the body was sent for an autopsy to establish the exact cause of death.
"Measures are being taken to solve the case," police said. That's it. They haven't said how the injuries occurred, whether there is a suspect, or whether anyone has been detained.
In the first hours, the silence is understandable - investigations aren't run from a press conference. But the neighbours in Hrom will be expecting a quick answer to two questions: was this a murder, and is whoever did it still at large?
