David Beckham has long been more than a former footballer. He is a luxury-brand machine, and one of his pieces now rents for 80,000 dollars a week (around 74,000 euros) - his yacht named Seven.

The name is no accident: it's a double gift - to both his legendary number-7 jersey and his daughter Harper Seven. The yacht was built by Italy's Ferretti, is nearly 30 metres long, was completed in 2022 and is valued at around 6 million euros. Beckham bought it after visiting the shipyard in Forlì, Italy.

Inside, four cabins for eight guests, each with its own bathroom, a sun terrace, a barbecue area, water-sports equipment and a jet ski. The family uses it as a summer base for the Amalfi coast and the Croatian islands. And when they don't need it, it gets rented out - because in the world of the rich, even a holiday has to earn its keep.

And here's the part that says more than the specifications. A man who made a fortune kicking a ball now earns even more renting out glass and steel that floats. Sporting glory is fleeting; a brand, if built smartly, is not. Beckham understood that earlier than most - and that's why his name today is worth more than any goal he ever scored.
