We Mustn't Be United Only in Emigration - All Forms of Radicalisation Must Be Clearly Condemned

Every form of radicalisation, regardless of where it comes from, whom it targets or what excuse it uses to justify itself, must be clearly and unambiguously condemned. Radical messages, the stoking of divisions and the creation of an atmosphere of confrontation don't bring solutions - they only deepen distrust and further weaken the social fabric.

In a country that has been facing serious challenges for years, the last thing it needs is a new wave of divisions and conflicts. Instead of channelling energy into creating tensions, it should be directed at solving the problems all citizens feel - regardless of ethnic, religious or political affiliation.

Today, perhaps the only thing in which everyone recognises themselves is disappointment and emigration. Thousands of young people, families and professionals are leaving North Macedonia in search of a better life, better conditions and greater security. That is the biggest alarm for the society.

We can't be united only in leaving North Macedonia. The single shared story can't be the one-way ticket. What's needed is unity around the future, around creating conditions for life, work, justice and perspective.

Instead of radicalisation, what's needed is reason and responsibility. Instead of divisions, a shared vision. And instead of competing over who can stir up tensions more loudly, it's time to compete over who can do more to make the young stay, and to make those who have left want to come back.

North Macedonia must not remain a country that unites people only in disappointment and emigration. It must once again become a place that unites them in hope and in the future.
