London was the center of the global gaming industry last night, hosting BAFTA Games Awards 2026, an event that definitively confirmed video games are no longer just entertainment - but the most powerful industry in the world.

The absolute winner of the evening was Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which took the most prestigious award - "Best Game," along with several other key honors including debut game and best leading performance.

However, the real spectacle was also stolen by Dispatch, which dominated technical categories, winning awards for animation, audio, and supporting performance, showing that this year's competition was fierce and uncertain until the very end.

Among the most notable moments was the success of Ghost of Yotei, which won awards for music and technical achievement, while Death Stranding 2 - despite high expectations and numerous nominations - settled for just one award for artistic achievement, which many considered the surprise of the evening.

The British scene also had its hero - Atomfall won best British game, while cult hit No Man's Sky once again showed longevity, winning the "Evolving Game" recognition.

In other categories, Blue Prince was named best game design, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II won the narrative award, and South of Midnight triumphed as new intellectual property. Arc Raiders dominated the multiplayer category, while family audiences were won over by Lego Party!.

One of the most emotional moments was the awarding of the BAFTA Fellowship to legendary industry leader Ilkka Paananen, a lifetime achievement recognition for his enormous contribution to gaming's development.

The event passed under the sign of entertainment's new era - without major scandals, but with a strong message: the gaming industry has not only surpassed film and music in revenue, but also in cultural influence and shaping the digital future.
