Prilep Is Asking for Names for Its "3rd of November" Awards: Deadline 9 October, and Any Citizen Can Nominate

The municipality of Prilep has opened its call for nominations for the "3rd of November" municipal awards and honours, along with the lifetime achievement award, marking the city's holiday. The deadline is 9 October 2026. Until then, anyone has the right to put a name forward.

And that is the point usually lost in announcements like this one: the right to nominate does not belong to institutions alone. Companies, associations and ordinary citizens have it too. So a teacher who has carried a school for years, a doctor who did not leave, a man who maintains on his own something the municipality forgot to maintain - all of them can be nominated, if somebody bothers to write a few pages.

The awards are given for significant achievements in social, economic, cultural-artistic and political life, and for outstanding contribution to the development and standing of Prilep. Achievements from 3 November 2025 up to the day of submission will be considered. For the lifetime achievement award, the nominee must be someone who has stood out with results in their field over a longer period.

Nominations go to the Committee for Marking Significant Events, Figures and Holidays at the Prilep Municipal Council, through the reception office or to the address "Prilepski braniteli" no. 1.

The condition is that a nomination must be reasoned and argued, with achievements specifically set out. That is a fair requirement - and at the same time a filter. If citizens submit nothing, the committee will choose from the narrow circle of names already within its reach. Whether Prilep honours someone who was visible or someone who was useful depends on how many people sit down and write a nomination by 9 October.
