Three hundred events, and you always find out after they have happened

The most common sentence after any good concert in Macedonia is "I had no idea they were even coming". No surprise there. Event information lives scattered across a dozen ticket sellers, in Facebook events only visible to people already following someone, and on posters glued to walls you never walk past.

So Metla's event calendar pulls it into one place. Right now it holds 297 upcoming events - concerts, festivals and performances still ahead, across 36 cities in five countries: Macedonia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovenia.

What the numbers show

September is the fullest month with 85 events. Of all 297, twenty-four are in Macedonia - sixteen in Skopje, five in Ohrid, two in Bitola and one in Tetovo. The rest is the region, which makes sense: Belgrade and Sofia are a few hours' drive, and for a lot of these names that is the only chance you get all year.

The calendar fills from the official ticket sellers, and past events drop out on their own. No dead entries, no last-year concerts sitting at the bottom of the page.

Closest to today

On 21 August clarinettist Vasko Dukovski plays Saint Sophia in Ohrid, and the same evening Slatkaristika is at Gold Felicija in Bitola. On 28 August Jelena Tomasevic and Ivan Bosiljcic perform at the Ancient Theatre, and on 29 August Nina Badric takes the same stage.

Every event in the calendar carries its date, city, venue and a link to the ticket seller. You can filter by city and by month, which is all you need when the question is "is anything on in Ohrid this weekend".
