Vatrogasci ("The Firefighters") play on Saturday, 7 November, at 9 pm at Club Boogaloo in Zagreb. The night is billed as a firefighters' party ahead of Martinje, and the poster also promises "+ guests", with no names.

Tihomir Borošak and Dean Parmak founded the band in 1991, and their first recording was "Vatrogasac Mirko". They have lived off parody ever since: from Boney M, ABBA and 2 Unlimited to Queen and Guns N' Roses, nothing has escaped the firefighter treatment. The album series "Vatrogasna zabava" came out in four parts from 1992 to 1995, and the singers kept changing while Borošak stayed.

Martinje falls on 11 November, the day Croatia christens its young wine, and the Boogaloo gig is already a tradition. The poster says it all: the band members stand in priestly vestments and mitres, with a glass of wine and a ukulele, in a wine cellar. How many bands in the Balkans would dare pose for a photo like that?

The ticket is 18 euros, about 1,110 denars, through Entrio, and it is also sold at the door on the day of the show.
