An 18-Year-Old From Delchevo Found 114,000 Denars and 2,000 Euros on the Boulevard - and Took It All to the Police

On "Makedonija" boulevard in Delchevo lay someone's ID card, a passport, 114,000 denars and around 2,000 euros. They were found by an 18-year-old local. On Saturday, October 24, at 2 p.m., he took all of it to the Delchevo police station.

In denars and euros combined, that is a sum you do not find in Delchevo every day - and the documents are the most expensive part for whoever lost them. Without an ID card and passport, the loss is measured not only in money but in queues at counters.

This time the Interior Ministry had something to praise rather than report. They called his act a positive example of honesty, conscientiousness and a strong sense of civic responsibility, especially among young people. "Acts like this deserve public recognition," the police added.
