Kisela Voda Residents Want Zoned Parking and a New Stop for Bus Line 24: The Municipality Promises Solutions "as Soon as Possible"

Residents of the Kisela Voda neighbourhood community sat down with mayor Beti Stamenkoska Trajkoska and handed her a long list of demands. Parking is at the top: they want zoned parking introduced across the area.

Then the list keeps going. Reconstruction of the branch of "14 Dekemvri" street behind the little market. Speeding up the detailed urban plan for Rasadnik and the plan for block J-20/10. Rebuilding the sewage pipes on "Meri Boshkovska". Reconstruction of two stretches, 50 and 100 metres long, on "Dimitar Geshoski". Opening up the fenced-off path behind the sports ground on "Dimo Hadzhi Dimov".

Some of the demands are not even the municipality's job. Residents asked it to lobby JSP, the public transport company run by the City of Skopje, to move the line 24 bus stop (Taftalidzhe - Kisela Voda) across from the "Zhito" supermarket. They also asked for more frequent police patrols near the addiction hospital, for safety.

The municipality says its departments have "noted in detail" the requests, so they can be analysed and "turned into concrete solutions as soon as possible". According to the press release, residents thanked the municipality for the new urban furniture in "Makedonija" park, for the playground on "Dimo Hadzhi Dimov" and for mowing the grass on time.

We will remember the phrase "as soon as possible". Zoned parking and the Rasadnik urban plan are not fixed with a lawnmower - and those are exactly the items that will show whether this neighbourhood meeting was the start of real work or just another photo for Facebook.
