Deljadrovci Is Getting a Park With Slides, a Swing and a Gazebo - Ilinden Municipality Won't Say What It Costs or When It'll Be Done

Deljadrovci, a village in the municipality of Ilinden just outside Skopje, is getting a park. The municipality is promising paved footpaths, green areas, a children's corner with a tower and slides, a swing, metal seesaws and a figure shaped like a little horse. There will also be a gazebo, benches, bins, lighting and decorative planting.

The goal, Ilinden says, is to give residents a place to rest, exercise and meet up every day, and the project is being presented as part of the "balanced development of all settlements".

A park and a playground in a village near Skopje is good news, and there is nothing to argue about there. The press release, however, is missing three pieces of information: how much it costs, who is building it and when it will be finished. Without them, "balanced development" stays a slogan.

The people of Deljadrovci will know best whether the promise was kept - the moment the first kid comes down the slide. Will the municipality publish the bill too when it cuts the ribbon?
