A Delchevo Man Set Fire Deliberately, Nine Plots Burned in the Village of Bigla - and One Question Without an Answer: Why?

A 60-year-old resident of Delchevo deliberately set fire in a place called "Tafrachko maalo" in the village of Bigla. The fire burned plots belonging to nine owners. The criminal complaint was filed by the Criminal Affairs Office in Delchevo; the charge is "causing general danger".

Detailed damage figures have not yet been published. But the Interior Ministry confirmed the affected plots are registered with cadastre boundaries, meaning the owners will have the right to seek compensation through civil procedure. The question that remains unanswered - why deliberately?

The Delchevo-Kamenica region is in a period where every spark carries tenfold damage because of the drought. The village of Bigla sits in potential forest territory. When one person decides to set a grass field alight and then watches the fire jump onto someone else's - that's a story of irresponsibility, not chance. And this time, at least, the complaint came quickly.
