A Truck Sank Through the Fresh Asphalt on Adzi Mustafa in Ohrid - 130,000 Euros, Six Months of Work, One Day of Testing

One month after the completion of the reconstruction, a truck sank through the fresh asphalt on the "Adzi Mustafa" street in Ohrid. The reconstruction covered 4,800 square metres and cost over 130,000 euros. The work took six months, and the quality test arrived - with a single truck, in a single day.

The opposition SDSM Ohrid responded with a statement that says it all in one sentence: "After more than six months of chaotically and incompetently run work, citizens today get a collapsed intersection instead of a safe, functional street." That is not political rhetoric - it is reality every driver on Adzi Mustafa can see.

The questions now opening up - who was the contractor? Which supervisory service accepted the work? Who carried out the inspection before the street was opened to traffic? And, most importantly - with how much fresh money will the same 4,800 square metres be finished, and who will cover that money?

If no public accountability follows this specific job, the scenario will repeat in any city in the country - with five different letters on the sign. That's why a single truck falling through isn't an anomaly. It's an alarm signal, and if it gets ignored, more serious ones will follow.
