Cherry is a Swedish singer born in 1968, son of the American jazz musician Don Cherry and half-brother of the singer Neneh Cherry. He grew up between Sweden and New York, where the family were neighbours with Talking Heads, and his musical path was shaped by both jazz and rock. The breakthrough came in 1997 with the debut album Desireless and the single Save Tonight, which became a platinum hit and climbed to number five on the American Billboard chart.

Save Tonight is not his only contribution - he has a long career across several albums - but it is that song that stayed his eternal signature, a track that still spins on radio stations around the world.
