A Macedonian punk band on a Sofia stage isn't everyday news. On 12 November Noviot Pochetok (The New Beginning) plays the Kupe club in Sofia, and the organisers point out that the band from Macedonia is playing the Bulgarian capital for the first time in ten years.

Noviot Pochetok is one of the longest-running punk rock and melodic hardcore bands in Macedonia, active since 2002. It has released at least four albums, toured across Europe and is known above all for its energetic live shows. The Sofia concert is part of the tour the band is marking as 25 years on stage.

The hosts are Spalni Mesta, back in their original line-up for the first time in two years, and also on the bill are Piranya, the Bulgarian skate-hardcore-punk band founded in 2011 whom the organisers call a skate-punk legend. The concert is on a Thursday and starts early, at 8 pm, so even those who work in the morning have no excuse.

Tickets on bilet.bg run from 15 to 25 euros, about 920 to 1,540 denars. Under-16s can only get in with a parent or guardian. The night is organised by Zamah and the Kupe club.
