In the mid-nineties, when Britpop was split between Blur and Oasis, Kula Shaker arrived with a sixties sound topped with Indian music and mysticism. On 13 November the London band plays the Joy Station club in Sofia.

The band is led by singer and guitarist Crispian Mills, alongside Alonza Bevan, Paul Winterhart and Jay Darlington. The 1996 debut album "K" went to No. 1 in the UK and double platinum, and "Hush" reached No. 2 and remained their biggest hit. "Tattva", "Govinda" and "Sound of Drums" also made the UK top 10, and in 1997 the band won the Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act. Kula Shaker split in 1999 and reformed in 2004.

The last few years have been among the most productive of their career. After 2024's "Natural Magick", their eighth studio album "Wormslayer" came out on 30 January 2026, their highest-charting album since the mid-2000s. February 2027 brings "K-Reinkarnate", a new live recording of the debut album with the original line-up, for its 30th birthday. So Sofia gets them while the band is back on form, not on a nostalgia tour.

It starts at 8 pm. Tickets on eventim.bg cost 59 euros, about 3,640 denars.
