Aries

Aries will today fix something in the house that has been broken for several months, and it will take twenty minutes. They will be a little annoyed when they see how short it was. Do not count backwards how many evenings you spent walking past that thing - a bill of that kind never gets paid, it just gets carried around.

Taurus

Taurus will today hear a song they have not heard in a long time and will stop in the middle of whatever they were doing. Nothing more than that will happen. Some four minutes in a day are not asking to be used for anything.

Gemini

Gemini will today give advice on something they actually know, and the person opposite will act on it immediately, without a single question. That will unsettle them more than an argument would. The scrutiny you look for before people believe you is not a sign they are listening properly - it is just a habit of putting off responsibility for half an hour.

Cancer

Cancer will today be in a situation where somebody else is sadder than they are, and they will handle it calmly, without carrying another person's weight home. This rarely works for them. Towards the end of the day they will notice they still have strength for their own things, which usually is not left after an afternoon like that.

Leo

Leo will today decline to tell a story about something that happened to them, even though the audience is right there and the story is good. They will save it for later. Do not explain that you are saving it - a thing told when it suits you sounds different from one pulled out because somebody asked.

Virgo

Virgo will today agree with something without checking the figure, because the person who said it rarely gets things wrong. They will be right about that. Mark the day - trust given without verification is something you have refused for years as a luxury, and once a month it is plain economy of time.

Libra

Libra will today find themselves in the middle of a conversation where everyone agrees and they alone think differently. They will say so out loud, briefly, somewhere around the second coffee. Nobody will take offence - a table where everyone agrees is usually waiting for somebody to open the other side, and by evening nobody remembers who it was.

Scorpio

Scorpio will today ask for something directly, without preparation and without going round the houses, from a person they usually ask nothing of. They will get a „yes" within seconds. Those seconds are worth measuring against the three days you spent working out how to phrase the question.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will today finish something administrative that has been dragging since June - a form, a payment, a signature somewhere. Nothing exciting. But the afternoon afterwards will be lighter than it has any reason to be, and that connection is worth knowing.

Capricorn

Capricorn will today be invited somewhere on Thursday evening and the first thought will be that tomorrow is a working day. Go. An August Thursday saved for the sake of Friday gives Friday nothing back, and that has been tested often enough.

Aquarius

Aquarius will today accept somebody else's way of working without proposing a better one, because the day is short and the job is not theirs. It will chafe a little. Let it go - not every better idea demands to be spoken on the same day it occurred to you.

Pisces

Pisces will today ask for help from a person they turned down about something two weeks ago. They will think the two are connected. They are not - people keep records on us far less often than we keep them on ourselves, and that asymmetry is good news almost every time.
