Aries

Today Aries will help their mother with the year's last batch of ajvar, the roasted pepper spread. They'll peel peppers for a whole hour, one by one, without asking "how many more" and without putting music on their phone. Their fingers will smell of smoke until Monday. Today Cancer will finally empty the jar of loose change that's been sitting on the shelf since the pandemic. They'll count it on the kitchen table, coin by coin, and it'll come to 1,340 denars. Tomorrow they'll take it to the bank. The clerk won't smile, but Cancer will smile for both of them.

Leo

Today Leo will spend two hours babysitting the neighbours' daughter, who is five and has strict rules. In her game, Leo won't be the king but a servant who brings tea in plastic cups. They'll bow every time the princess gives an order. When the parents come back, the little one will say Leo was "the best servant ever" - and Leo will take that praise more seriously than any they've had at work.

Virgo

Today Virgo will let a friend who's training to be a hairdresser cut their hair in the kitchen. The left side will come out two centimetres shorter. Virgo will notice the difference immediately, the friend - won't. By Tuesday, Virgo will have forgotten it too.

Libra

Today Libra shouldn't accept the task the boss brings over on Friday at three in the afternoon with the words "it won't take you long". Libra should say "Monday morning" - no explanation, no apology. The boss will nod. The task would have waited until Tuesday anyway.

Scorpio

Today, at a red light, Scorpio will hear the song that played at their prom night on the car radio. They'll turn it all the way up, even though a bus full of schoolkids will pull up next to them. The kids will laugh. Scorpio will sing until the light turns green - and a little bit after.

Today Sagittarius will sit down to sort out the photos on their phone - 14,000 pictures, half of them photographed receipts and screens. By midnight they'll have reached 2019 and deleted nine hundred. They'll print twelve for their mother, who still keeps albums. She'll turn them into a whole evening of stories.

Capricorn

Capricorn, who always heads home before ten on a Friday, will stay at the café until closing tonight. They'll be the last customer and will help the waiters put the chairs up on the tables. Tomorrow they'll get up late and won't regret it. How many Fridays have they been the first to leave?

Aquarius

Today Aquarius will listen to their mother about thyme tea for a sore throat - without asking for a study that proves it. The throat will get better. Their mother will say "I told you so", and Aquarius will put up with that too.

Pisces

Today Pisces will video-call their grandmother and teach her how to flip the camera. For half the conversation they'll be looking at her kitchen ceiling and one ear. Grandma will ask three times whether they've eaten. It'll be their best conversation this week.
