Influencer Found Dead in a Suitcase in Bogotá: Two Passports, a Missing Phone, and Two Foreigners

Behind every pretty picture on social media there's sometimes a story that ends in the darkest possible way. Colombian influencer and model Natalia Villalba (36) was found dead in a suitcase in a rented apartment in Bogotá, in a building in the Chapinero district. The body was discovered by a cleaner who came to clean the apartment after the rental period had expired.

The timeline investigators are reconstructing is disturbing. Villalba rented the apartment in early June. On June 7 an American from Texas left it, on June 17 a British national moved in, and on June 18 he left - and that's exactly when her family stopped receiving messages from her. The body was discovered on June 22.

The two foreigners are being treated as suspects but have not yet been formally charged; authorities are working to locate and question them. The exact cause and date of death remain unknown until the forensic analysis by the National Institute of Forensic Medicine is complete.

The case is full of unanswered questions. Two passports belonging to Villalba were found in the apartment, but with different surnames. Her mobile phone - key to reconstructing the final hours - is missing. Security camera footage and the building's entry records are also being reviewed. The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, expressed his condolences and confirmed the investigation is underway.

It's easy to turn your head and say „faraway Colombia". But the story is closer than it looks: a young woman alone in a rented apartment, foreigners coming and going, and a thread that snaps with no one noticing in time. The question that remains isn't just who, but also why nobody reacted while there was still time.
