Kane Scored a Hat-Trick, Bayern Ends Six-Year Drought Without the German Cup

Bayern broke a six-year drought without the German Cup, and the main executioner is the same man doing this season after season - Harry Kane. At the Olympiastadion, Bayern crushed Stuttgart 3:0 and took a new trophy, this time with a hat-trick from the Englishman.

Kane started in the 55th minute with an effective header off a deflected center-shot from Michael Olise. He doubled it in the 80th, after a fine move that left Chema Andrés behind him before he slipped the ball into the bottom corner. The third came from a penalty in stoppage time, with a composed finish past Alexander Nübel.

The numbers are almost indecent - 61 goals and 7 assists in 51 appearances this season, and Stuttgart became the club against which Kane scored a full eight goals in a single campaign. On top of that, he became the third player in history to score in every round of the German Cup in the same season.

Bayern wrapped up the campaign with a treble - the Bundesliga trophy (35th consecutive), the Champions League semifinal and now the cup. Vincent Kompany finished his first incomplete stint on the bench as well as he could - with three-quarters of everything available to win. Kane, having finally arrived at a club that doesn't drop trophies, has become a machine that doesn't stop.
