Aries

Aries will stay at work longer than necessary today, but not because of the work. They will wait for one particular person to leave first so they do not have to walk to the car park together. They will think up the excuse in advance and nobody will ask for it.

Taurus

Taurus will agree today with something they do not agree with, because it is Friday and the conversation has already run forty minutes. That is rare for them - they usually hold out longer than anyone at the table. They will notice it on Saturday morning, when there is no longer anyone to go back to.

Gemini

Gemini will be left alone in a room today with somebody's open laptop and will not even glance at it. Not out of principle - they will simply be bored. What will surprise them is how little effort it took.

Cancer

Cancer will be the first to call someone they have not spoken to in three months. No occasion, nothing that needs sorting out. The conversation will be shallow and short, and they will still carry it around all weekend like something completed.

Leo

Leo will sit at a table today where the conversation revolves around somebody else all evening. They will not turn it toward themselves once, even though the door will be open twice. At home they will check whether that bothered them and find that it did not, which will confuse them more than the evening itself.

Virgo

Virgo will throw away a list from two weeks ago today without checking what is left unticked. They will do it quickly, turned away, as if not looking. The space that opens up in their head they will only feel somewhere toward evening.

Libra

Libra will tell someone today that they are wrong. Directly, naming the thing, without three sentences around it about how they do understand where it is coming from. The other side will flush, stay quiet, and toward evening send a message saying they were right - which Libra will read five times.

Scorpio

Scorpio will stop an explanation halfway today because the person in front of them has already understood. They will recognise it from the face, not the words. The rest of the sentence will stay in their mouth until the end of the day, like something not easily thrown away.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will be asked today when they are leaving, and will give a date. A specific one, with a day and a month, not "sometime in the autumn". The person who asked will write it down, and it is precisely that writing down that will make the date harder to move than all their previous plans put together.

Capricorn

Capricorn will lend money today without asking when it comes back. It will be uncomfortable for a few seconds, then it will pass. By Sunday they will work out how much that matters to them, and it will turn out to be less than they feared.

Aquarius

Aquarius will go today to the place everyone else went to last year, and will have a good time. No irony, no remark about how ordinary it is. They will catch themselves wondering whether this is surrendering something, or just the end of one very long pose.

Pisces

Pisces will read a message today and not reply until evening. Not out of drama - they will have work, a queue, a person waiting. What will surprise them is how little collapsed while they were not replying.
