Pat Todd and the Rankoutsiders play the Hard Place club in Zagreb on October 28, 2026, starting at 8 pm. The American punk rock band from Los Angeles arrives at a Zagreb club with a track record that now runs to forty years, if you count what came before it.
Pat Todd was the singer of the Lazy Cowgirls, a punk rock band from Los Angeles active from 1983 to 2004. When the band broke up, Todd did not retreat but founded the new group the Rankoutsiders in 2005. The first line-up was Pat Todd on vocals and acoustic guitar, Nick Alexander on guitar and vocals, Rick Johnson on bass and vocals, Eric Christiansen on guitar and vocals and Bob Deagle on drums. Deagle and Johnson were also former members of the Lazy Cowgirls, which means the continuity was not just in the singer's name.
The Rankoutsiders' music is less shaped by cowpunk than the Cowgirls' was, which is a deliberate change of direction rather than a natural falling off. Their first release came in 2007, the double album „The Outskirts of Your Heart”, and since then the discography has grown through independent labels such as Hound Gawd! Records.
Tickets are 20 euros, roughly 1,232 denars, plus a booking fee, through entrio.hr. Hard Place is a club that regularly brings in exactly this kind of band: the ones who were never on the radio and have forty years of unbroken work behind them.
