Paris Saint-Germain has agreed a five-year contract with Ferran Torres, and Barcelona will receive less than 50 million euros for the forward who brought Spain a world title. This is a club that has already won two consecutive Champions League titles and the UEFA Super Cup, and still spends as if it has nothing. This summer they have already brought in Man Akliouche, found Mika Goc as a replacement for Barcola, and Gonçalo Ramos left for Milan. Torres scored 21 goals in 49 matches last season as Lewandowski's back-up - and now becomes first choice in Paris. The question is not whether PSG will be favourites, but who else even has the budget to open that conversation.
Manchester City has submitted an offer of 102.5 million pounds for Enzo Fernández, below Chelsea's asking price of 120 million. The Argentine is under contract until 2032 but has made clear he wants to leave - and that is a position clubs rarely come out of as winners. Last season Fernández collected 16 goals and 10 assists across all competitions. Chelsea has already lost manager Enzo Maresca in the same direction, to City. A club that has spent years telling a story about a long-term project while selling its best players to a direct rival - that is the definition of a feeder club, only with more expensive marketing.
Arsenal is in talks with Galatasaray over Victor Osimhen, in negotiations that began from the opposite direction - the Turkish club offered 38.4 million pounds for Gabriel Martinelli and showed interest in Ethan Nwaneri. The Londoners' first choice is Julián Álvarez, but Atlético wants over 100 million and the player wants Barcelona. Osimhen scored 22 goals with eight assists last season and carried Galatasaray to the title, having previously taken Napoli back to the top of Italy after 33 years. When the first choice is out of reach, the second suddenly becomes „the better solution” - an old trick in every sporting director's negotiating vocabulary.
The last Macedonian club in European competition has ended its season. Shkendija played out a 0:0 against Scotland's Hibernian in the return leg in Skopje and went out of the Conference League third round 1:2 on aggregate. Coach Artim Položani admitted that Marko Gjorgievski's injury at the final training session wrecked their plans and that the second goal conceded in Scotland was decisive. „We gave 100 percent, but it simply was not enough”, he said, immediately switching the subject to the domestic championship, where he is openly going for the title. The target was the play-off, the outcome is an August without Europe - and a whole season whose loudest ambition will be a league with six million fewer eyes on it.
Manchester City and Saudi club Al-Qadsiah have agreed the transfer of Tijjani Reijnders for around 61 million euros, with only the player's own consent still missing. The Dutchman spent one season at the Etihad - that is how long the story lasted about a player meant to be part of Guardiola's new midfield. When a club like City accepts a Saudi offer without resistance, that is not a sporting decision but an accounting one: Gulf money is now the quick and clean answer for any budget. And Reijnders? He will be remembered as a player who lasted in Manchester about as long as a renovated kitchen.
