Looking for more events? The full calendar of concerts and events in Macedonia and the region is in one place.
On Saturday, December 26 at 20:00, Marjan Georgievski brings his stand-up show "Ostani normalen" (Stay Normal) to the Macedonian Philharmonic. The Bitola National Theatre actor has been doing stand-up since 2011, and this time he takes on the generation that grew up with cassette players and Walkmans and now lives with smartphones and artificial intelligence. A hall built for symphonies and one man with a microphone: tickets are 700 denars on kupikarta.com. More about the show.
On Friday, December 25 at 20:00, the Jane Sandanski Sports Hall turns into a kafana, the Balkan tavern: high and low tables instead of rows of chairs, drinks and meze, and more than four hours of Macedonian evergreens with Naum Petreski, Suzana Gavazova, Mile Kuzmanovski and Blagoja Grujovski. The host is Igor Džambazov. Nobody has put a kafana in a sports hall before, so we'll find out whether the crowd sits or stands. Tickets are 650 denars on wayin.mk. More about the evening.
On Saturday, November 21 at 19:30, the National Opera and Ballet stages Tchaikovsky's ballet, with Nataša Trendafilova Gicev in the double role of Odette and Odile. A ticket is 800 denars and can only be bought at the Opera's box office, because the house does not sell through ticketing websites. More about the performance.
On Saturday, November 28 at 19:30, the National Opera and Ballet stages "The Lady of the Camellias", Verdi's "La Traviata" told through dance alone, with Marija Kičevska Šokarovska as Marguerite. This ticket is also 800 denars, at the Opera's box office. More about the ballet.
These four nights are only the start. As of November 2, the events calendar lists 49 more events in Skopje before the end of the year, from club gigs to the Philharmonic, each with a date, a venue and a price. How many of them would you have caught in time from a poster at the bus stop?
