Stanivukovic refused to stand next to Dodik at bridge opening

At the ceremonial opening of the Cesma bridge in Banja Luka, an incident occurred when mayor Drasko Stanivukovic refused to stand next to the president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for a joint photograph.

Footage shows Dodik and Zeljka Cvijanovic waiting for Stanivukovic, who does not appear. "We are calling him to come and take a photo, what is the problem. Drasko, come on", Dodik said.

The president of the parliament of Republika Srpska, Nenad Stevandic, added: "Come on, mayor, we will all cross the bridge. Stop messing around."

Stanivukovic later explained that he had not been formally invited to the ceremony and suggested that this is not the first time the city of Banja Luka has been excluded from the entity's protocol. He called these actions "petty games unworthy of big players" in which he refuses to participate.

The bridge began construction in November 2022, and the delays were due to unresolved property issues, slow permits, and unfavorable weather.
