On 15 November, Macedonians in Malta will get the kind of evening rarely seen so far from home. The national folk dance and song ensemble "Tanec" performs at the St. Vincent de Paul theatre in Malta, at a charity concert starting at 7 pm.

"Tanec" was founded in 1949 by the then government of the People's Republic of Macedonia, with the task of collecting, preserving and presenting Macedonian folklore: the songs, dances, instruments and costumes. Seven decades later, the Skopje-based ensemble is seen as an ambassador of Macedonian folk tradition and has performed across Europe, the Americas, Australia, Asia and Africa.

The programme is conceived as a Macedonian evening. The ensemble brings the oro and folk songs, Suzana Spasovska sings the finest Macedonian folk songs, and Bojan Velevski opens the night with a stand-up set. The proceeds from the concert go to a charitable cause.

Tickets cost 20 euros, about 1,250 denars, and are sold via karti.com.mk. Doors open at 6 pm.
