Aries

Aries will start cooking something today that takes three hours, on a Sunday, with no guests in sight. They will catch themselves staring into a pot and not being bored. What will surprise them is not the food, but how little they missed their phone in those three hours.

Taurus

Taurus will say "all right" today to something suggested ten minutes ago. No sleeping on it, no two postponements just in case. They will set off in shoes that are wrong for where they are going and they will not care - which, for them, is rarer than the going itself.

Gemini

Gemini will stay on one subject all through lunch today. They will not steer it toward a film, toward some third person, toward an incident from last year that only connects inside their own head. Nobody else at the table will even notice anything was different, and that will gnaw at them a little.

Cancer

Cancer will not call anybody before noon today. Not out of anger - the phone will simply be in another room and they will not carry it around the house. In the afternoon they will see seven missed calls and not one of them will have been urgent.

Leo

Leo will fix something with their hands today. A door that scrapes, a shelf that wobbles, a cable somebody tangled months ago. It will take them twice as long as it would a tradesman and they will still photograph it when they finish - a photograph they will send to nobody.

Virgo

Virgo will lie down this afternoon. No alarm, no "just twenty minutes" said out loud to make it sound controlled.

Libra

Libra will pay for something on somebody else's behalf today and will not mention it. Not as a gesture, not as an investment in anything - it will simply be easier than splitting the bill at the table. Toward evening they will wonder whether the person even noticed, and conclude that it does not matter. Whether it really does not is another question.

Scorpio

Scorpio will ask about something today they already know the answer to. Not to catch anyone out - to hear how they will say it. What they get will be more accurate than expected and it will ruin an entire theory they have been building for weeks.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will sit down today to sort out bills, documents, some pile that has been there since July. They will expect it to be a grind and it will not be. It will be done by two in the afternoon, and the rest of the week will look wider than it is.

Capricorn

Capricorn will laugh today at something that is not clever. An ordinary bit of nonsense, a joke that does not survive retelling. They will try to explain why it is funny and fail, which will make it funnier still for everyone except them.

Aquarius

Aquarius will ask somebody how they are today and wait for the whole answer. Not the three-word one you take and move on from - the whole thing, with the detours and with the part that only comes at the end. It will last twelve minutes. None of it will be useful to them and they will carry that encounter until evening anyway.

Pisces

Pisces will say a number out loud today when somebody asks what they want for something. No shrinking it mid-sentence, no tacking on "if that's too much, say so". The other side will agree immediately and it will chase them all day - whether they should have said more.
