Tottenham win at Stamford Bridge for the first time in eight years

In pouring rain in London, Tottenham beat Chelsea 2:0 - their first league win at Stamford Bridge since April 2018 and only their second in 37 Premier League visits there. It was all decided in ten minutes. In the 77th minute, 21-year-old Mike Penders, in goal for the injured Emiliano Martínez, misjudged a corner and sent the ball into his own net. Three minutes later Cole Palmer picked up a second yellow card for a late challenge on his former teammate Conor Gallagher, and in the 87th minute Mathys Tel set off from the halfway line, went past Maxence Lacroix and finished. Chelsea came in on three straight wins, but without João Pedro up front there was nobody to finish their attacks. Roberto De Zerbi's Tottenham, meanwhile, have two league wins in a row for the first time this season and climbed to 12th.

Jackson trips up City at Villa Park

Seven out of seven - that is how long Enzo Maresca's Manchester City kept their perfect start. It ended at Villa Park. Nicolas Jackson, Chelsea's former striker, scored both goals in Aston Villa's 2:1 win: the first after a poor touch from Marc Guéhi, the second eight minutes after Erling Haaland had equalised with a header. City hit both the post and the bar, and Ian Maatsen cleared another Haaland header off the line. Goalkeeper Zion Suzuki saved the hosts several times, including when he tipped a Joško Gvardiol thunderbolt over the bar. Villa are unbeaten in seven, this is their fourth straight home league win over City, and Jackson has seven goals in 11 appearances this season. City are still top, but that first defeat has opened the door to everyone chasing them.

Kompany collapses at Bayern training

The weekend's heaviest news didn't come from a pitch. Vincent Kompany, coach of Bayern Munich, collapsed at training on Friday and was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Munich; a helicopter also landed at the training base, but he was transported by road. The 40-year-old Belgian had been fighting for days with a virus that attacked his legs, and German media reported that the illness had also aggravated his hip problems. Against Leipzig (6:1) he sat on the bench for almost the whole game, missed training and a press conference, and still stood on the touchline for the 2:2 with Arsenal in the Champions League. "I caught a pretty nasty virus and, of course, I didn't listen to my body," he admitted himself. "Getting Vince to rest is a challenge," said his assistant Aaron Danks. According to reports his condition is stable, but Bayern have not released a detailed medical update. On Sunday they play Freiburg - and who will be on the bench, so far nobody is saying.

Struga still haven't conceded at home

While the league waits for someone to trip them up, Struga Trim Lum aren't letting in a single goal at their own stadium. 4:0 against Skopje in round 11, and the job was done by the 30th minute: Besmir Bojku with a long-range volley, young international Hristijan Maleski in the scramble in front of goal, Hamond Agamah with a header from a Vosha cross. In the 59th minute Arbi Vosha got on the scoresheet himself. They have won all six home games this season, with a goal difference of 19:0 in front of their own fans. Struga are on 23 points, level with Shkendija at the top, and the real test comes in the next round - away at Vardar. Skopje, newly back in the top flight, are bottom with 3 points and without a single win.

VAR rules out all three goals in the Shkendija - Vardar derby

The nets in Gostivar bulged three times, and the scoresheet says 0:0. First, in the 31st minute, the VAR room ruled out a goal by Ndzengue, Shkendija's top scorer, for offside. The real drama came in stoppage time: in the 90th minute Dimitar Danev finished a Vardar counter-attack, but after a long check - offside. Just moments later Ediz Spahiu scored too, and the flag went up again. The "SHK vs VAR" banner that had announced the derby turned out to be prophetic. The two camps shared the points and the frustration, and whether the centimetres were measured correctly - for now, nobody has an answer.
