Ukraine Released Footage of a Destroyed Bridge in Crimea: The War Long Ago Moved Into Logistics

Ukrainian special forces released footage in which, as they claim, the railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal on the occupied Crimean peninsula has been destroyed. Ukrainian representative Andriy Kovalenko said briefly: „The bridge over the North Crimean Canal is destroyed“, thanking the special units for the operation.

The footage, reportedly taken near the settlement of Rozdolne, shows the disabled structure. There are no concrete casualty figures, but the message is clear - the bridge, as Ukrainian sources say, „no longer functions“ and „no longer exists“. The war long ago shifted from the front lines to logistics: whoever cuts the supply lines, dictates.

Crimea is the heart of Russian logistics in the south, and every bridge, canal and railway leading there is a target. Ukraine systematically strikes exactly these points, trying to cut off supplies to Russian forces in the occupied territories. It's not as spectacular as a big battle, but it's more effective.

For the Balkans, which know the logic of long wars well, this is a familiar pattern. Conflicts that begin with grand declarations end in small details - which bridge stands, which road is passable, which canal carries water. After more than three years of war, the question isn't who has the bigger army, but who can hold out longer patching the bridges the other side keeps tearing down.
