Wedding Convoy Blocks "Jane Sandanski" Boulevard in Aerodrom: Four Drivers Fined - How Much, the Interior Ministry Won't Say

The wedding party set off to collect the bride, and "Jane Sandanski" Boulevard in Aerodrom - one of the busiest roads in that part of Skopje - came to a halt for them. Several cars blocked the traffic, and every other driver waited behind the wedding convoy.

The video reached the media, and only then did the Interior Ministry react. On 11 October, four drivers were summoned to the road traffic safety department of the Skopje police: D.G. (28) in an Audi, M.P. (25) in a BMW, Lj.B. (48) in another Audi and S.S. (23) in a Suzuki. All the vehicles have Skopje number plates, and the drivers will pay fines for a traffic offence under the Road Traffic Safety Act.

How much they'll pay - wasn't announced. And that's exactly the number that would tell us whether the fine is a punishment or just one more item on the wedding bill. If blocking a boulevard costs about as much as a round of drinks, will it stop anyone at all?

The pattern is familiar from the case of the motorcyclist doing wheelies on Partizanska, whose criminal charges the ministry also announced on 11 October: first the footage, then it goes viral, then the police. Is anyone at the Skopje police watching what happens on the boulevards while it's happening - or are citizens with their phones doing the patrols' job?
