Živa, a singer-songwriter who lives between Sarajevo and Belgrade, plays the Belgrade club Karmakoma on 12 November from 9 p.m. DJ Toši warms up the evening.
Behind the stage name is Iva Pažin. Her music blends alt-pop, jazz, hip-hop and drum and bass with personal stories about mental health and empowerment. Her debut album "Preterujem" came out in November 2023 on Glitch Records and got good reviews, and at the end of 2024 the second, "Živa zdrava", followed, bringing in electronics, Afrobeat and reggaeton rhythms. Alongside her solo career, she is also a member of the Balkan-beat group Maika.
As songs of hers she'd single out, she named "Znak" and "Disala" in an interview with Danas, and the video for "Rebra" was directed by Petar Dolić. Live she plays with a band in which her younger brother Boris Pažin is on drums. In the year before that interview alone she played almost 30 concerts, which for an alternative artist early in her career is no small number.
Tickets cost 1,200 dinars, about 632 denars, and are on sale at tickets.rs. Karmakoma is a small club, known for its "Concerts for 200" series with audiences capped at two hundred people, so this is a gig for those who want to hear Živa from a few metres away.
