A car caught fire while it was moving on a street in Skopje's Chair municipality, and the driver - a 55-year-old from Skopje - managed to get out before the flames fully engulfed the vehicle. Even so, he suffered burns to his body and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The fire broke out around 7:40 in the morning. Skopje's fire brigade put out the blaze, and police carried out an inspection at the scene. The cause of the fire is not known for now.

A car catching fire while moving is a nightmare for every driver - within seconds, the vehicle turns from a means of transport into a trap. Cases like this most often happen due to a technical fault or an electrical problem, but that's exactly why a regular technical inspection isn't a formality the state imposes to be difficult, but the difference between a small fault and a burned-out car in the middle of the street. This driver was lucky to make it out in time.
