Where is the nearest recycling container, and which ones have been sitting full for days? It's all on one map, with data updated every day.
A fifty-year-old Skopje man with the initials A.A. was called in to the Karpoš Police Station after videos appeared on social media showing a Mercedes truck with Skopje plates dumping construction waste on a green space.
The Interior Ministry says his identity was established, an official interview was held, and "appropriate legal measures" were taken together with the Municipality of Karpoš environmental inspectorate. Some headlines immediately wrote that he had been fined. Whether it's a fine, how much it is and whether he'll have to clean up what he dumped, the statement doesn't say a word.
The man chose to dump rubble on public land, and he answers for that. But the second part of the story is clear from the order of events: first the footage, then the reaction. How many trucks have dumped rubble by the road without anyone having a phone in hand?
If the penalty is serious, the inspectorate has no reason to hide the figure. It's the only thing that can make the next driver think twice before raising the tipper. Will we hear it, and who'll clean up the rubble?
