The Greek border now has its own clock

Every summer the same story: you set off for Greece hoping to breeze through, then sit at Bogorodica with no idea how long you will wait. That is why, in our Greece holiday guide, we put the border cameras online live, plus a clock that shows the wait hour by hour and by direction - toward Greece and back home.

The numbers don't lie: the jam home is in the afternoon

The data we collect is clear. Toward Greece it is calmest early in the morning, while the queue builds up around midday. Going home it is the opposite - the wait climbs in the afternoon and today it spiked to 58 minutes at 2 PM, exactly when everyone leaves the beach at the same time. After 6 PM the border breathes again.

The rule is simple

Head to Greece early, before the border fills up. Going home, avoid the afternoon rush between 1 and 5 PM. It is not magic, just a rhythm that repeats every day - only until now nobody showed it to you in one place.

Check before you leave

The border cameras and the crowd clock are live and free. Instead of guessing or trusting someone's „I got through in five minutes", see for yourself what the border looks like the moment you plan to leave. The full guide with crossings, beaches and costs is in the Greece guide.
