Aries

Aries will get accurate information today from someone they do not trust, and will do the opposite, purely to avoid being the one who listened. By four in the afternoon they will be convinced the information was right. The second time they will ask the same person, but they will circle the question around the topic for so long that it will look as though they worked it out themselves.

Taurus

Taurus will break something off halfway today - a job, a conversation, a film - and will get up from the table without coming back. With them this happens once a year. There will be no big reason behind it, and precisely because of that nobody at home will ask anything; they will assume there is one.

Gemini

Gemini will be in a situation today where someone asks for an exact detail - a date, a sum, a name - and they will say they are not sure, instead of offering an approximation. That is new for them. The conversation will get five minutes shorter and more closed off, and in the evening they will wonder whether those five minutes were worth more than the accuracy.

Cancer

Cancer will work something out today with a pencil and paper - monthly costs, a debt, how much is left until something. No phone and no asking anyone. The number will not be frightening, and the calm that comes from finally knowing it will last until Friday.

Leo

Leo will be invited into something today as a reserve, after someone else was asked first. They will find that out in passing, from a second sentence. They will go anyway, they will be good, and of everyone present they alone will know what that going cost them.

Virgo

Virgo will make a mistake in front of people today and will correct it immediately, out loud, with no preamble about how this does not usually happen to her. It will last ten seconds. Everyone will move on, and she will spend the whole afternoon waiting for somebody to come back to it, which will not happen.

Libra

Libra will pay for something for somebody today without announcing it and without waiting to be paid back. A coffee, a bill, a small thing at the till. The person will not even notice, which is the only way Libra knows how to give something without putting it on the scales.

Scorpio

Scorpio will forget something today that they had planned to mention. Not deliberately, not as a tactic - it will simply slip their mind until the end of the conversation. When they remember in the evening, the first thought will not be "mistake" but how many things they have been holding in their head until now without dropping a single one.

Sagittarius

Sagittarius will be asked today to explain why something did not work out, and instead of the story they have prepared, they will say one sentence with the reason in it. No circling. The silence after it will be longer than the whole story, and still easier to carry.

Capricorn

Capricorn will ask for help today. From a person who for years has only helped when offering first. It will not be a big request - half an hour, one phone call, one lift - but they will hold the phone in their hand longer than a request that size requires.

Aquarius

Aquarius will buy something ordinary and practical today, with nothing in it worth telling a story about. A drawer, a spare key, a box. They will sort the thing out in five minutes, and by the end of Tuesday they will catch themselves thinking about it with strange satisfaction.

Pisces

Pisces will tell somebody today that they disagree, in the moment, rather than three days later into somebody else's ear. Their voice will tremble halfway through and they will carry on. That tremble will be the only thing the other side remembers from the entire conversation, and they will not take it as weakness.
