Kuzmanovski Scored 15 Goals, Yet Pelister Still Didn't Win: A Four-Goal Lead Melted Away in Gdańsk

Kuzmanovski alone against Gdańsk, Pelister take a point instead of a win

Eurofarm Pelister earned their first point of the EHF European League group stage with a 31:31 draw away at Wybrzeże Gdańsk, after leading 17:16 at half-time. Captain Filip Kuzmanovski scored 15 goals - a personal record in European competition. His previous best was 10 goals against PSG in the Champions League last season, and a round earlier, against La Rioja, he didn't score at all. Lino Červar's side led 24:20 in the 41st minute, but couldn't find the net in the closing minutes, and Gdańsk equalised at 31:31 - for the first time in the second half. The hosts had the last attack for the win and missed it too. Goalkeeper Saeid Heidarirad made 11 saves, and Ntanzi added seven goals. How does a team whose captain scores 15 let a four-goal lead slip? Next up is an away trip to Gummersbach.

Veszprém crush Partizan in Belgrade

Six days after winning the IHF Club World Championship, Veszprém went to Belgrade and beat Partizan 37:26 in round three of the EHF Champions League. Danish goalkeeper Emil Nielsen made 24 saves, the Hungarians led by five at half-time, and by the 53rd minute the gap had reached ten. Partizan's top scorer was Uladzislau Kulesh with six goals. Veszprém are on three wins from three, Partizan on three defeats. The home crowd in Belgrade helps - but not much against a team that had become club world champions just a week earlier.

PSG score 46 against Celje, Magdeburg win in Kielce

Paris Saint-Germain beat Slovenia's Celje 46:35 and broke two club records in the Champions League - most goals scored in a single game and most total goals in a single match. Bjarki Már Elísson and Elohim Prandi scored seven each, and Celje had never conceded that many before. Magdeburg, meanwhile, won the rematch of the 2023 final 35:30 in Kielce and, like Veszprém, are on a maximum six points. Switzerland's Kriens-Luzern celebrated the first Champions League win in their history - 34:32 over Kolstad. When a team scores 46, the question isn't how well they attacked, but where the opponent's defence was.

Vardar host Wisła Płock tonight, chasing first points after two defeats

Vardar 1961 host Polish champions Wisła Płock tonight at 8:45 pm at the Jane Sandanski Sports Centre in round three of the EHF Champions League. The "red-and-blacks" opened the group stage with defeats to Melsungen and Nantes, although they showed themselves in a good light. "A very tough game against a quality opponent awaits us. We'll give everything we have, and I hope that in front of a full hall and our excellent fans we'll celebrate our first Champions League points," says captain and goalkeeper Vasil Gogov. Coach Ivan Čupić warns that the attack must be perfect, but without defence it's all for nothing. Fans are gathering on the plaza in front of the hall from 6:30 pm. Will home advantage be enough against a team of this level?

EHF builds cameras into the goal itself

The European Handball Federation has successfully tested new goal-line cameras at the final tournament of the Women's EHF EURO Cup in Bucharest at the end of September. Until now it wasn't possible to place a camera exactly above the line. Now there's a camera in each corner of the goal, where the post meets the crossbar, built into the metal and the wooden interior. The system will be used in all six arenas at the Women's EHF EURO 2026, which will be played from December 3 to 20 in Poland, Romania, Czechia, Slovakia and Turkey. The head of the EHF's refereeing unit, George Bebetsos, says this is "a technical step that doesn't exist in any other sport with a goal". An end to arguments over whether the ball crossed the line? At least until someone starts disputing the cameras too.
