LeBron After a 4-0 Sweep by Thunder - A Short Sentence to SGA That Says It All

The Los Angeles Lakers' season ended without much drama - 4-0 in the Western Conference semifinals, and Oklahoma City is moving seriously towards defending its title. LeBron James, instead of staying quiet or throwing accusations, turned to the new MVP - Shai Gilgeous-Alexander - with a short sentence that says it all: "Go win another."

The Lakers fell in game five of the series 115-110, and that without Luka Doncic who was injured. Without Doncic, there is no magic anyone can invent against the reigning champions. A season that recently looked very promising ended on the quick whistle before the Thunder.

What LeBron did after the final buzzer is more interesting than the result. On the way to the locker room, he first greeted Alex Caruso - his old neighbour from the bubble championship season of 2020 - and then SGA, the league's reigning MVP. The same sentence: "Go win another."

Caruso and SGA are now in their second consecutive Conference Finals. They wait for the winner between the San Antonio Spurs and the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Thunder look like a team that has never been beaten and that has never been pressed - and in that state, many have already seen them with the next NBA trophy.

For the Lakers, a summer of hard questions begins. The team without Doncic has no real chance against the top of the West. The team with Doncic - if the injuries do not repeat - can be an entirely different story. But that is a story for next season. For this one, the last word has already been spoken by LeBron. And he knows he is right.
