70:68 in Kumanovo: MZT lift their ninth Super Cup

Kumanovo won the right to host the "Dragan Vasilov - Cevka" Super Cup and, with huge support from the stands, almost toppled the champions. MZT Skopje Aerodrom still won 70:68, in a game that stood at 39:37 at half-time. At 52:51, Noah Farrakhan and Vojdan Stojanovski hit two threes for a 6:0 run, and Luka Stojanovski gave them their first double-digit lead, 62:51. Kumanovo came back and had the last possession, but couldn't even get a shot off. Farrakhan finished with 20 points, Vojdan Stojanovski with 16 points and seven rebounds, and MZT now have 36 trophies: nine Super Cups, 13 titles and 14 Cups. Even Kumanovo's Boban Stajić said it out loud: MZT are the big favourites on the domestic scene. The rematch comes as soon as 2 October in Skopje, in the first round of the Super League.

Ohrid-born Osman knocks out Panathinaikos, Super Cup stays in Piraeus

Cedi Osman, born in Ohrid, knocked out his former club with a buzzer-beating three. PAOK beat Željko Obradović's Panathinaikos 84:82 in the Greek Super Cup semi-final, after Sylvain Francisco had put the Greens 82:81 up a few seconds from the end. "Shots like that are the easiest. You have to take them with confidence," said Osman, who called his former teammates "brothers". In the final, though, Olympiacos were better, winning 101:96 to lift the trophy for the fifth year in a row. Sasha Vezenkov had 25 points and 10 rebounds, Jean Montero added 20, and Osman gave PAOK 15 points and seven rebounds. Jakimovski scores 16 on his Napoli debut

Macedonian international Andrej Jakimovski opened and closed his Napoli debut with a three. Croatian coach Jasmin Repeša's side beat Roma away 94:75 in the first round of Italy's Serie A.
