Looking for more events? The full calendar of concerts and events in Macedonia and the region is in one place.
Everyone in Macedonia has heard it at least once: "Back in our day it was different!" Nikola Popović built an entire stand-up show out of that sentence. "U nashe vreme.." (Back in Our Day..) is on 11 November at 9 pm at Public Room.
The theme is the comparison between generations: how our parents lived and how we live. Love, marriage and kids, work, money and everyday nonsense, all measured by your father's yardstick, according to which everything used to be better. Except, as the announcement puts it, perhaps his decisions.
The two dots at the end of the title aren't a typo. Every one of your dad's stories has a sequel, every comparison ends with a lesson, and every lesson starts with "Now listen, let me tell you…". Popović asks whether things really were better in their day, or whether there was simply no Facebook for people to complain on.
Tickets cost 600 denars and are sold via tix.mk. Public Room takes card payments only.
