She Nearly Didn't Apply for Canada - and There She Met Her Husband: Sara's Story and Her Wedding Dress

Sometimes the biggest decision in life hinges on the one you almost didn't make. Sara first turned down a study programme in Montreal - and only applied at the last minute, at a friend's urging. Four months in Canada brought her the thing she expected least: her future husband.

"The last thing I thought when I was leaving for four months in Canada was that I would meet my husband," she says. There she met Tito, and seven years later he proposed during a weekend in Baqueira. They married in January, at the Royal Monastery of Santa María del Puig in Valencia.

For her day, Sara chose a design by the brand T.ba Brides by designer Sol Prado - a piece from a ready-to-wear collection with an embroidered corset and a layered skirt in different fabrics. Her reaction when she tried it on was instant: she fell in love with every detail it had. The dress wasn't made to order, which makes the story even more relatable - the perfect gown doesn't always have to be waited for over months.

The details carried meaning. The veil was a vintage mantilla belonging to Tito's mother, the bouquet of red carnations was a nod to Madrid, the groom's home city, and the shoes were made in colour so she could wear them again later. In a world where weddings are measured in budgets and spectacle, Sara's story is a reminder that the most lasting details are the ones with a personal story behind them - not the ones with the highest price tag.
