Štip University Hands Campus 4 Over to the Interior Ministry

The "Goce Delčev" University in Štip has handed its facility known as "Campus 4" over to the Interior Ministry - a building that until now housed the Faculty of Philology and the Faculty of Tourism.

The building sits at the entrance to Štip from the Skopje direction, right next to the existing Interior Ministry traffic station. According to rector Dejan Mirakovski, the handover "meets the University's needs," since "Campus 4" was the only facility outside the central area - students until now had to walk or arrange special transport to get to lectures. The affected students will now be moved to two central locations.

The Interior Ministry, for its part, wants more space and greater capacity - the location is strategic because of its proximity to the Štip bypass and the new motorway, which demand greater traffic coverage.

The swap looks practical for both sides: the university frees itself of a distant facility, the police get space where they need it. But it's worth remembering - state buildings travel easily from one institution to another, and rarely does anyone ask whether the faculty should have been pushed out to the edge of town in the first place. When education yields space to the police, it's good to know whether that's sound logistics or just the easiest solution of the moment.
