Forty minutes. That is how long Bad Bunny's concert in Milan lasted before the sky decided it had had enough. Right after the song „Nueva Yol“, a fierce electrical storm with hail, wind and downpours crashed down on the „La Maura“ racecourse, and around 80,000 people had to be evacuated within minutes.
The organisers paused for ten minutes to judge whether the weather would settle. It did not. The show - the second Milan night of the „Debí Tirar Más Fotos“ tour - was cancelled outright, with no new date announced. Before the storm the thermometer read over 35 degrees; then came the hail, and with it injured people who needed medical help.
The scenes that followed were familiar to anyone who has been to a big event in the Balkans: metro stations crammed with people caked in mud, crowds shoving toward the exits, an evening that flips from euphoria into logistical chaos in a matter of minutes.
„The safety of everyone present has always been our first priority,“ said the promoter Live Nation Italia, promising full refunds, including processing fees. It sounds fair on paper. But the question everyone who bought a ticket is asking is different: how long did they really wait before pulling the plug, and whether 80,000 people out in the open under lightning should ever have been put in that position.
Nature set the schedule this time - and neither the biggest star nor the most expensive production had a say. What is left is the bill the organisers are paying and the disappointment of tens of thousands who came for one concert and went home with mud up to their knees.
