Slovenia beat Denmark 30:28 in the bronze-medal match at the M20 EHF EURO 2026 and claimed a fourth bronze in the tournament's history. The team of Tomaž Ocvirk opened with a 5:0 run built on goalkeeper Matevž Mlakar, who stopped five shots from five attempts early on. The Danes came back to within a single goal three minutes from the end (27:28), but Vanja Dragić restored the two-goal lead, and Mlakar's final save secured the bronze. The Balkans showed once more that in handball they fear no one - not even the Scandinavian schools regarded as the world's best.

Macedonia will host the IHF's 26th Junior (under-21) World Championship in 2027 - confirmed after the last places were filled at this M20 EHF EURO. Fifteen national teams booked their spots at the finals: Sweden, Hungary, Denmark, Slovenia, France, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Austria, the Faroe Islands, Romania, Iceland and Israel. Three Macedonian Handball Players Went Down on One Knee the Same Weekend

This weekend Macedonian handball celebrated love - three national-team players in the same weekend proposed to their partners, and all chose the beach as the perfect setting. First to share the happy news was former international Martin Serafimov, who proposed to former handball player Jana Kalajdžievska on a beach in Greece - and got a "Yes."
