Butterfly Nails: The Summer Trend That Looks Effortless and Sophisticated at Once

This season's manicure imitates something unexpected - butterfly wings. Butterfly nails combine a translucent gel, a polar-light effect and fine holographic details to create a light, shimmering look that shifts with the light. Striking enough to draw a compliment, but not so loud that it looks overdone.

The technique behind them is called blooming gel. "Butterfly nails have that magic of looking effortless and sophisticated at the same time," says Luisandra Moreno, a manicure expert. The process uses a semi-translucent gel base, a powder with an aurora effect or fine crystals, and a gradient application with a sponge or thin brush - the result is an almost iridescent effect that moves with every motion of the hand.

But for an everyday look, Moreno advises moderation. An almond or slightly square shape, medium length, and soft colours - nude, mauve, powder blue. For those who want an even subtler version, a single accent nail or a thought-through French manicure with a crystal edge is enough.

And here's the point the beauty industry rarely says out loud: the best trends aren't the ones that demand a total transformation, but the ones that adapt to you. "There's no one right way," Moreno says - the technique changes with the seasons and with personal taste. Which means you don't have to chase every trend literally; it's enough to take from it what suits you.
