Court Bailiff and Process Server Took Bribes to Fix Verdict Before Appeals and Supreme Court

A court bailiff and a process server from the Skopje Criminal Court took bribes to "fix" a verdict before the Appeals Court and the Supreme Court. The original sentence was one year in prison for illegal manufacture and trade in weapons.

The bailiff was ordered held for 30 days on April 9 for "accepting rewards for unlawful influence." Flight risk and potential witness tampering were cited. For the process server, prosecution requested custody but received house arrest instead.

Two people from the system - one bailiff, one server - took bribes to influence a verdict traveling through three court instances. How many such "fixes" go unnoticed? Trust in the judiciary is not built through campaigns, but through prison doors for those who sell it.
